Apply for a Scholarship: Doris G. Solberg Lye Memorial Scholarship

    ABOUT DORIS G. SOLBERG LYE
In her lifetime, Doris endeavored to always live up to the old adage that anything worth doing is worth doing well, whether it was teaching or filling the multiple roles required of ranch wives in this state. She received the honor of being the Ag Woman of the Year in 1985 and was a highly accomplished seamstress. As an educator and farmer, Doris appreciated the value of living close to nature and receiving a good education. It is fitting then that the scholarship bearing her name benefits graduating seniors of Wind River High School, allowing an opportunity for youth raised in an agricultural community to further their education.

    PURPOSE
The purpose of the DORIS G. SOLBERG LYE MEMORIALSCHOLARSHIP is to provide financial assistance to graduating seniors of Wind River High School to further their education. The Selection Advisory Committee considers a student's academic record and achievements, financial need and the student's participation in community and extra-curricular activities.

If the student receives funds from the school due to non-completion of a term or not attending full-time, those funds are to be returned to the Wyoming Community Foundation. If the school requirements are not met, but there is no refund, the scholarship grant shall be forfeited for the next term.

It will be the responsibility of the student to obtain a copy of the grade report at the end of each term and mail it to the Wyoming Community Foundation. A 2.5 cumulative GPA must be maintained.

Names of recipients will be announced by April 30. Each candidate will receive an individual letter informing him/her of the status of the application.
