Lauren P. Miller Endowment Fund
Scholarship Application Information

PURPOSE
The purpose of the Lauren P. Miller Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals who are participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program with the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training * . Although individuals of all trades will be considered, special attention will be given to the automotive and construction trades e.g. carpentry, plumbing and electrical.

ELIGILIBITY CRITERIA
Geographic Requirements: Applicants must be residents of Wyoming.

Number and Duration of Awards: At least 10 scholarships of $600 will be awarded each year. Number of scholarships will vary in accordance to availability of funds.

Personal Requirements: As stipulated by the fund, "worthy candidates should be non-smokers and non-drinkers of alcoholic beverages who would be willing to sign a statement to that effect."

Payment of Scholarship:
The scholarship is made payable directly to the individual applicant. WYCF will not issue 1099 forms to award winners but it should be understood that all scholarship funds should be declared as income and may be taxed.

Other Awards:
This scholarship may be accepted in addition to other awards.

TERMS OF THE AWARD
The Wyoming Community Foundation has a 3-month probationary period. Apprentices who are cancelled from a Registered Apprenticeship Program during this time for any reason will be required to repay the scholarship amount in full to the Wyoming Community Foundation and will be ineligible for future Lauren P. Miller Scholarships.

Awards will be made by September 1. All candidates will receive an individual letter informing him/her of the status of the application.

RENEWAL
The scholarship is not renewable. However, recipients may continue to apply for scholarships for the duration of his/her training.

Application forms can be obtained online at the Wyoming Community Foundation (www.wycf.org) website. For a hard copy form, please contact the WYCF (866.708.7878) and request the Miller Scholarship Application. All forms must be fully completed and received by the Wyoming Community Foundation, 313 S. 2nd Street, Laramie, WY 82070, by JULY 1.
