Evanston Area Community Foundation

The Evanston Area Community Foundation was established in 1996. The Evanston affiliate has been successful in encouraging the establishment of endowment funds since its inception and active in generating grants for their local area. In 2001, the ECF recommended funding of a Teen After School Mentoring Program for adolescents. As a result, this program has developed into a successful, collaborative function of the school district, the city council and area businesses.

The Evanston Affiliate acts as the advisory board for the 21st Century Fund. This fund was originated by a gift from a family that wanted to give something back to the community. The fund acts as a permanent resource for the nonprofit organizations of Uinta County. Affiliate members review area applications and grants are made out of the income generated off the principal of the fund. The 21st Century Fund gives individuals and families in Uinta County an excellent opportunity to make charitable contributions of any size with the knowledge that their funds will be used to support their communities.

With the long-term goal of making a difference in the quality of life for the present and future generations of Evanston area people, the ECF looks forward to expanding their search area for the building of endowment funds that will allow them to continue their grantmaking work. Their on-going projects include their continued engagement in identifying several projects that could benefit from grantmaking within the community.
